We offer a complete 360° production service across Aotearoa New Zealand, from feasibility through to delivery. Our breadth of real-world producing experience means we can tailor our offering to a production’s specific requirements.

Our services include:

Project Feasibility

Our collective experience means that we can quickly ascertain the feasibility of your production. Firstly, by providing initial recommendations as to whether your project qualifies for NZSPG. We’ll explore where in New Zealand your production is best suited to film, and what crew and facilities would be readily available in that area. We can set you up with post houses which are the right fit (if required) as well as assessing the script for budgeting and scheduling purposes. The vast shared knowledge and networks of the Tahi team means we can recommend and connect you with the best options Aotearoa has to offer, not just a selection.

Incentives

NZSPG = 20%

We can manage all aspects of an international production’s access to the NZSPG so that you don’t have to. From eligibility for the rebate, to providing the NZ SPV, processing documents / applications and handling the final audit. No worries, all part of the Tahi Experience.

Co-productions

New Zealand has Co-production Treaties with a number of countries. The Tahi team has extensive experience and we can assess if your production is best structured as an official co-production (40% NZSPG) or an international production (20% NZSPG).

Scouting & Fixers

We can provide location scouting/production fixer services at the outset of a project, should you wish first to determine New Zealand’s suitability for your shoot, as well as all pre-production scouting.

Budget & Schedule

With many years of physical production experience in New Zealand and as NZSPG specialists, the Tahi team have up-to-date knowledge of New Zealand crew, cast and supplier rates, along with relationships with post houses, bond companies, debt lending facilities, legal and insurance providers, which enable us to prepare a budget and schedule that is accurate, realistic and manageable.

Crew & Studios

As committed industry practitioners, we have well-established relationships and access to world class crew. They also happen to be some of the loveliest humans we’ve met who share the same pride and work ethic to make outstanding productions here. There are a range of studios and sound stages throughout New Zealand. Together we have the ability to determine the best fit for your production.

Immigration / Work Visas

Citizens from other countries who wish to work in New Zealand (other than Australia) must apply in advance for a work visa. Tahi can assist you with this process. New Zealand’s border can close to non-residents under certain Covid-19 scenarios, unless the individual is granted an exemption by the Government. We have extensive experience in working with MIQ, applying for exemptions and managed isolation (MIQ) slots, in addition to work visas and liaising with the relevant guilds.

Health & Safety

Our Health & Safety At Work Act 2015 (HSWA) means that all contractors and those associated with the project have a responsibility and accountability for the health and safety for everyone involved with the production. This includes emotional and mental safety, as well as physical safety. The TAHI team can help navigate the Health & Safety obligations and advise the production’s leadership team to ensure compliance with the HSWA.

COVID 19

The TAHI team have been at the forefront of implementing Covid strategies during alert levels so production can continue with as little disruption as possible, whilst prioritising our cast and crew's safety.

Sustainability, Diversity & Inclusion

These are more than just buzz-words, they are values built into the DNA of our company. We aim to support diverse talent to strengthen the depth, capacity and skill base within our industry. We create employment opportunities, both in front of and behind the camera, for practitioners from previously under-represented communities. We feel a diverse team will only enrich both the craft and the experience of bringing these stories to life.

We acknowledge that production can be wasteful and wish to adopt best practices. Tahi work closely with iwi, The Department of Conservation, local council and trusted suppliers to ensure your production leaves a positive environmental footprint.
